EFC ARSENAL, U18 Girls
The 2009 Fall club season has come to a close and it was a tremendous step forward for not only the EFC club, but for their Arsenal U18 Girls team as well. With a complete “overhaul” of the Arsenal team from a year ago, this year’s team was much stronger, faster, and more skillful. The players were committed to each other and it paid off in their play, posting an impressive overall record of 15 wins; 3 losses; and 2 ties. They scored 39 goals giving up only 13. The team definitely got stronger and more confident towards the end of the season, competing with very good teams and fairing well in all competitions.
To finish the season, the Arsenal were the Finalists in the Midwest All-Girls tournament and went undefeated in six college showcase games (GSI College Showcase-Kansas City, KS; Jato College Showcase-Arlington, TX), and crowned Champions in the Jato College Showcase. In addition, several players were courted by colleges to come play at their programs. The future looks bright going into the 2010 season as the Arsenal team looks to compete at the next level and continue to establish a great high school club program for future EFC players.
EFC STRIKERS, U17 Girls
The EFC Girls program truly has a bright future with the next wave of players coming up. The Strikers, primarily a U15 group also had a great outdoor season with an overall record of 11 wins, 4 losses and 2 ties. The scored 45 goals and allowed 11. Along the way, they were champions of the U19 Prison Break Tournament and EFC Fall Invitational. The Strikers also won the Sportszone Girls HS B league. The Strikers will next compete in the Winter Magic Tournament.
The EFC coaching staff is very proud of the accomplishments of this group of very talented athletes and would like to wish them all successful HS seasons.
