DEALING WITH ADVERSITY

What is adversity?

The answer is not as obvious as you would think. People have different thresholds and therefore not all people or groups will believe a situation is as difficult as the next. What generally defines whether a situation is adverse is whether the situation has been previously experienced and the results of that experience. If you have never experienced a situation, it is normal to have some level of “Fear of the Unknown”. Additionally, if you have experienced a situation and not faired well you may conclude that you will experience similar results.

How do you approach adversity?

When you are put in a situation that you feel is difficult you will need to decide whether it is adversity or challenges. The difference being the choice of how you perceive, receive and respond.  Do you choose to be discouraged or determined? Your response to the situation will either positively or negatively affect you and others around you.

Adversity brings out greatness!

The greatest accomplishments are those that were difficult or impossible to attain. In fact when you look back at your greatest achievements, what you will remember most was the effort and determination you put forth and not the actual goal you attained.

Who are the winners?

Winners are people who look at every challenge with an expectation and determination to overcome or improve their situation. Determine today to be a winner!
